DIGITAL CLIMATE MAP

The Normalize Difference Vegetation Index is the most commonly used vegetation index in order to calculate the photosynthetic output (amount of green vegetation in an area) in a pixel based on the principle that green vegetation will absorb radiation in the visible region of the spectrum, while the NIR strongly reflect radiation using Landsat MSS digital data. It is expressed as the difference between the near infrared and red bands normalized by the sum of those bands.
